What is an Ostomy?
A reality that many people are unaware of.
An ostomy is a surgically created opening (stoma) that allows waste from the bowel or urinary system to leave the body, usually into a collection pouch.
Across Europe, many people live with a stoma. They lead active lives: working, travelling and participating fully in society.
For people living with a stoma, using a public toilet can present challenges that most others never have to consider.

Why is a conventional public toilet not enough?
Managing a stoma requires more than a conventional toilet.
Emptying, rinsing or changing a stoma pouch requires facilities that conventional public toilets rarely provide.
Without adequate space, a suitable working height and hygienic surroundings, even a routine task can become difficult, uncomfortable or unsafe.
This is why dedicated toilets for people with a stoma bring together everything needed in one space:
✓ Dedicated rinsing facility: For emptying and rinsing a stoma pouch safely and hygienically.
✓ Practical work surface: A clean, stable area for changing a pouch and preparing the necessary supplies.
✓ Ergonomic height (75 cm): Comfortable for use while standing, without having to kneel or bend over a toilet.
✓ Hygienic materials: Smooth, durable surfaces that are easy to clean and disinfect.
✓ Privacy and dignity: A dedicated space offering comfort, discretion and peace of mind.
Living with a stoma should never mean compromising on dignity, independence or quality of life.
